This is the largest port city in the Canaries, here you can find all the services for yachts, from maintenance services to equipment and even find a crew for crossing. Not surprisingly, the marina was chosen to be the ARC’s staging point and springboard. It can be tied to a marina at a reasonable cost or anchored outside the marina, but in the port area, north of the inner voucher. On Monday 5/10/2021 in the afternoon we said goodbye to Mexico. We embarked on a 200 mile cruise to our next destination in Belize City to the Cucumber Marina. On Wednesday 12/5 in the morning we entered the marina after a challenging cruise, hard sea, wind of up to 30 side wave contact up to 3 meters and many navigation obstacles due to coral reefs. It was difficult, challenging and wet.

This marina is considered a mecca for sailors. It contains a large number of moorings but is very busy during the season. High level toilets and showers, promenade with restaurants, souvenir shops and clothes on the pier. A must visit is Carlstens Fortress and a walk around the island. On foot around the island you can find beautiful beaches (Scandinavian style ie small and rocky), a forest with apple trees and raspberry bushes on the way to the fort and other beautiful gems along the way.

Mgarr, Gozo, Malta

The island of Gozo is the little brother of Malta, a quiet and pleasant place, many Maltese come here to enjoy the beaches and nature.

You can leave the ship at anchor and take the ferry to Malta, paying only one way for the return trip.

Marina in an excellent location in the center of the Mediterranean, offers excellent protection for all seasons, and an airport 5 minutes drive, makes the location very comfortable. A small and magical marina with few moorings. Protected from westerly winds.
It is recommended to arrive early, otherwise there will be no mooring. The price for a 42-foot boat ranges from 48-52 euros. Water and electricity are included. The walk on the island is magical, the town is exciting and worth exploring.
The nearby island is a gem worth visiting with a small museum documenting birds and the surrounding animals. The marina has clean toilet and shower facilities. A small supermarket on the pier and restaurants on site.

We were caught in a northeasterly storm at the mooring at the long-side mooring on the concrete platform. We were not protected and the stay was difficult.
We recently realized that a new management company has come in and the collection is exorbitant.
There is a daily charge of 7 euros until midnight so if you stay until the morning you pay for two days (14 euros). In addition, Pix Price on electricity (8 euros) and water (5 euros).
